Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
